Creating your own courses enables you to easily share your tacit knowledge with your students in a structured and engaging manner.

The “key” to creating a successful online course is proper strategic planning. This will help you save your time when creating the course content. At the same time, it will help you provide an effective learning experience for your students. Ideally, your course should be a well-thought set of standalone lectures or progressive lessons on a specific topic.

  1. At TacitKey, we recommend that you should have at least 3 lectures or chapters per course, out of which at least 50% should be video/audio content.

  1. Please ensure that the audio and video is not distracting and are of high-quality.

  1. When you are developing your video content, please ensure that the video is of high-resolution, approximately about 720p or HD, with bright background lighting.

  1. Additionally, please ensure that the audio quality is top-notch, with your voice being clearly audible. Additionally, your audio should be completely synced with the video.

  1. Please provide a transcription of your video/audio to ensure what you are trying to communicate is clear to everyone, and that there is no confusion due to the difference in accents etc.

  1. Please ensure that the length of each lecture is at least 30 minutes. Also, make sure that your content is updated.

  1. Make sure to keep the file size to less than 10 GB limit.

  1. Accepted file formats include .pdf, .mp3, and .mp4.

  1. Please ensure that you set a competitive, yet reasonable price for your course.

  2. In addition to the main lectures, you can add supplementary materials, practice tests, exams, assignments etc to the course, to encourage student participation as well as to evaluate their performance

  3. Engage with the students throughout the course to encourage and motivate them. Set apart a time at least weekly, to interact with them and answer their queries.

  4. Each lecture should be centered around a specific topic and should answer a course objective.

  5. Please do not include external links to paid content in your course, as such content will be immediately rejected.

  6. Please do not post or request personal or confidential information about the participants in your courses.

  7. Your courses as well as individual chapters, and supplementary materials will be moderated by our content moderation team.

  8. We encourage you to respect all the relevant copyrights and trademarks policies while creating your courses.

  9. Please ensure that all the discussions in your course are peaceful and empowering.

  10. Please do not promote any discrimination based on race, ethnic origin, religion, disability, gender, age, nationality, or sexual orientation in your courses.

  11. Do not post any crude or insensitive content in your course materials.

  12. Please do not upload plagiarised content within your courses. Please include proper referencing if you are including content from another source. If not, it will be rejected during the moderation process.

  13. Please do not upload any content that creates pop-ups, transmits viruses and/or other bugs.
